Fact : The collective noun for a group of Pinemartens is A Richness
Seeing A Richness of pinemartens, is quite rare, this is only the 3rd time in a year of observing them, that I have been lucky enough to witness it.
Watching this video reminds me of why I spend so long fighting the midges, the weather, waiting and waiting, for more hours than I care to remember, just to get a glimpse of them, they can hang around for just a minute or they can stay for 40 minutes they do not run to a timetable unfortunately
Last night was like waiting on a bus, you wait ages for one to arrive, then four come along all at once, happy days
At this time of year it is more exciting, as mum brings along her Kitts which are about 14 weeks old and they love to roll about and play fight
making lots of barking, huffing and gurgling noises as they communicate with each other.
In this video there are 1 x mum Lugs (She has a chunk out of her left ear) and her kitt Pfor, they are joined by 2 other kitts, this was their second visit that night

We spent a great night taking photos from a garden in Oban. The main attraction was the Pine martens with appearances from mice , hedgehogs , owls, huge moths and the sound of splashing fish in the background. ' Oot ' is extremely friendly and all proceeds are going to a great cause, so if you are in the area, I would highly recommend a visit .

Absolutely brilliant! We had a fantastic night with Oot! Great, casual set-up- perfect spot to wait for the critters.
